Finding Resolutions

It’s in the last week of December that we do a lot of reflecting. Getting together with friends and family brings up the highs and lows of the previous twelve months. We remember the glory days of summer. We remember the fires that warmed us during the fall months. We remember the ten pounds that we just gained in the last two weeks. Oh, yes. We remember.

In the midst of all our remembering, we start to make resolutions. Fuzzy at first. Mere dreams for some of us, but that slowly escape our lips as the hours tick by and we know that glizty ball is going to drop in New York soon. Here are the current front-runners of our resolutions:

Exercise more

Save Money

Lose Weight

Eat healthier

Meditate

Make new friends

Get organized

Learn a new skill

The list goes on, but we will stop at eight. In the end, if we’re really honest, every year we just want to be better. We want to feel healthy, fit, and happy. And that’s not so bad. But how does chocolate fit into a New Years resolution? Surprisingly, it can meet at least a few things on the list above. So, now for the shameless plug…make eating Ilan’s Raw Chocolate your next New Years resolution. And why, you ask?

Eating Healthier

In general, chocolate is known to make people happy. The presence of theobromine is the key ingredient to that sweet feeling you have after eating chocolate. It is a moral booster. It is a heartache painkiller. And dark chocolate is proven to make you the happiest of all chocolates. But, did you also know that chocolate doesn’t have to add to your waistline?

Not all chocolate is created equal. Some make you happy, but are packed with sugar. Some are healthy, but taste terrible. We bring the best of both. Healthy, delicious, melt in your mouth dark chocolate. Our chocolate is still packed with minerals and antioxidants that will give you the boost you need to take on the upcoming year.

Make new friends

One of the things we all want is a little bit of companionship. A small group of friends that know us and who get us. Or a special someone that we can share life with. We love that we can work with our friends and family. And we also love that our friends feel like family. This is the heart that we have with out all our events. We want people to enjoy doing life together.

We try to curate some of the best events in our area and don’t mind expanding our social circle if we need to. As we have looked back on the past year at Ilan’s, it is amazing to think about all the new friends we have made. We have gone all the bank to the bourbon banks of Kentucky to the skyscrapers of New York City with a few great pit stops in between. So, we look forward to another year of growing friendships and want to invite you along. Make sure to check out our upcoming events next year.

Learn a new skill

And last, but certainly not least, is learning a new skill. How many of us got on Duolingo this year just to see how much Gaelic we could learn? Or how many YouTube videos did you watch for the DIY home project you never finished? There is something in us that wants to learn…at for five minutes. Use that brain power for something a little more satisfying—chocolate.

We are doing workshops year round. Educational, fun, and full of twists as you make chocolate your own. Check them out here. If you are a looking for a quick DIY, this is the just the ticket.
